Protecting and Restoring Nature

Norteak Group carefully manages its plantations to support biodiversity. They allow natural vegetation to grow beneath the trees, which helps maintain healthy soil and provides shelter for wildlife. Large rare trees are preserved to sustain the natural ecosystem, and agrochemical use is minimized. Additionally, strict measures prevent hunting and littering, ensuring a safe habitat for animals.

Beyond the plantation areas, the Norteak Group protects large sections of land where wild nature can grow. Their 120-hectare Rainforest of Tanzania is a dedicated reserved area, allowing wildlife to thrive undisturbed.

Through structured monitoring, the Norteak Group has recorded:

• 319 species of major fauna, including 212 bird species and 44 mammal species.

• Eight endangered or vulnerable species, such as spider monkeys, ocelots, and yellow-naped parrots.

• 127 butterfly species, including two never before documented in Nicaragua.

• 103 tree species, with efforts to restore native forests.

Their biodiversity assessments track wildlife habitats, conservation areas, and species at risk while mapping key ecological features for long-term preservation.
